The DigiGovLab (http://digigovlab.ee/) at Ragnar Nurkse Department in cooperation with the TalTechDigital Initiative is launching on 17 December! In today’s changing environment, the newly established DigiGovLab will serve as a flagship research and coordination centre for all things digital government, bringing together stakeholders from a variety of groups to build a cooperative research ecosystem. The launch event will have presentations and insights into our latest research such as the drivers and barriers of cross-border e-services, open data, innovative public service creation, and the intricacies of e-voting, such as costs and processes. There will also be talks by Rector Jaak Aaviksoo and Minister of Entrepreneurship and Innovation Rene Tammist who will discuss the role of Estonia in digital government research and the importance of academic digital government research for Estonia. Following the talks, there will be a panel discussion moderated by Robert Krimmer (DigiGovLab) with Marek Helm (Nortal), Gert Jervan (School of IT), Maarja Leena Saar (Estonian Cooperation Assembly), Janek Rozov (MKM), and where they will discuss the importance of digital government for their specific sector. Additionally, the discussion will include information about future collaborations between societal groups, the role of digital government research for Estonia, and how Estonia can position itself as a global leader in digital government research.
